Chesapeake shoreline at golden hour, a wooden pier reaching into still water

Vegapeake Bay

Can you make a great Chesapeake crab cake…
without the crab?

Matt & Sue are going to find out.

Formula 001 starts here.

The experiment

We love crab cakes. We love the Chesapeake. And we’re curious.

So we’re trying something slightly ridiculous: make a plant-based Chesapeake-style cake that we’d actually be excited to eat.

No company. No grand plan. No idea if it’ll work.

Worst case? We eat a lot of fake crab cakes.

The rules

  1. Make it.
  2. Write it down.
  3. Taste it.
  4. Freeze it.
  5. Make it again.
